“When I first started at Starstuck at the age of 12, I knew nothing about acting or musical theatre. It had been something I’d been interested in but never experienced. After attending one of their fantastic holiday workshops, I realised that this was what I wanted to do!
I was with StarStruck for 4 years and in that time I learnt so much and became a more confident performer. In addition to attending the IDTA Musical Theatre exam classes and Drama lessons, I performed regularly in the annual shows and won several awards. It was onstage at the Core Theatre, Solihull that I performed as ‘Bill Sykes’ from ‘Oliver’ and the imposing King in ‘The King and I’; I even shaved my head for the role!
At the age of 16, I continued my drama at Stratford College where I studied for a National Diploma in Performing Arts: Acting. After a year at Birmingham School of Acting on a foundation course, I was successful in my auditions for Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. After 3 years I achieved my BA Hons in Acting and was presented with my degree by Sir Paul McCartney!
I now live in New York and have performed in several plays.
I have such fond memories of StarStruck, they are extremely professional and take pride in giving everyone a chance to shine. Without Katie and her team and the knowledge they have given me, I wouldn’t be where I am today!”
